Hey, so, ya....married. Hard to believe, isn't it. Sometimes I wonder if I am actually dreaming, and if, when I least expect it, I will get that pinch that leaves me breathless as it knocks me back into the real world, where I will be face down in a puddle of drool in math class or something.
It's nothing like I expected it to be. I thought everything would change and that it would be this huge thing (though it is huge). But, its pretty much the same as it was before, only now I have to remember to sign my new name. Which, on occassion, I have had to be reminded to do.
The wedding went great. Thought it was a little nippy cause of the cold wind, it was a great day. Our arch had to be held up because of the wind though....and at the end of the ceremony, when we went to sign the registry, my veil flew off, but my sister was there to catch it....just one reason why she was my maid of honour, i guess.(lol)
Toronto was fun. Though we didn't really do all that much. We went swimming in the hotel...went to the eaton centre...cruised down younge street for hours, checking out tons of little shops...went and saw a movie...ate out at a few nice places...and ordered in the biggest, most gigantic pizza I have ever seen in my life. I mean this thing was HUGE!!!! We also went to Mesdieval Times and theatre....where our knight got his rear handed to him. Overall, other than the stress of trying to navigate in downtown T.O in construction, we had an awesome time....though we did get slightly lost once or twice.
One of these such occassions, where we were not actually lost was on the way home. I missed the exit I was supposed to take, so we ended up continuing on the 401. Justin said that we would be fine and could go through ottawa. Well, then I almost hit a transport truck that decided to pull out in front of me with me going 110 kms/hour....needless to say, I had had enough of driving, so Jus took over. Then, in my state of sleepy-time Mel, I saw a Kaladar exit. So I says to Justin, take that exit, and we can go home the way we planned. So he does. Well, I said that it would take about 30 mins until we got to Kaladar. So i dozed and we continued on our way. Then Justin, who felt we had been driving for too long without seeing a sign pulls out the compass and proceeds to tell me that we had been going in the wrong direction. I got all upset and started to freak out. I was tired and wanted to sleep in my bed. He asked me if we should turn around, and I said no, we had gone this far, there had to be a sign soon, letting us know where we were. So we drove on, miserable and tired. Finally, 29 minutes and 20 seconds from the time I said half and hour to Kaladar (justin had been timing), we see a sign....and it says Kaladar. So, we actually had not been going the wrong way, and were not lost. genius if you ask me.
So, its been 2 and and half weeks since we tied the knot...I think most people didn't think we would even make it to the ceremony....huh...
Well, so almost three weeks down...forever to go!
